Host an Event at Your Gym

Bring competitors and spectators into your facility with a professionally run event—without the admin headache. We handle registration, scheduling support, and insurance. You provide the space and a small staff team.

What to Expect

Event length depends on the number of competitors and mats available. As a general rule, plan for approximately 1 hour per 10 competitors per mat.
For example, 20 competitors on 1 mat typically runs about 2 hours, while 20 competitors on 2 mats is about 1 hour.Events are generally held on Saturdays, with occasional Sundays depending on scheduling. Weigh-ins take place the morning of the event.

Staffing Requirements (Host Gym)

Host gyms are asked to provide but we pay:

  • Front desk staff / Timekeeper
  • Referees (minimum purple belt level)

Our cash pay rates:

  • General staff: $15/hour
  • Referees: $20–$25/hour

Insurance Coverage

We handle all event insurance and will add the host gym to the policy for full coverage.

Host Gym Revenue Share

Hosts receive:

  • $5 per competitor
  • $5 per spectator

HOST WSJJ EVENTS AT YOUR ACADEMY

Become your city's official World Series of Jiu-Jitsu host. World Series of Jiu-Jitsu tournaments are typically held in existing Martial Arts schools. This helps us save money by not having to transport mats and rent large facilities. so we can pay the winners of each division their fair share.

Benefits of becoming a WSJJ host:

  • Profit share for each event you host.
  • Excellent promotion and exposure for your academy.
  • We cover all expenses: insurance, staff, marketing and promotions, etc.
  • Give back to your local Jiu-Jitsu community and provide athletes a chance to make money.

Requirements

  • Provide the facility (minimum 1500SQF with 1000SQF of matspace)
  • Secure the staff: referees, timekeepers, front desk. (WSJJ covers the cost)
  • Help with marketing/promotions through your network
  • Provide table, chairs and extension cord for timekeepers.
